Our School

Sprouts Montessori started in 2009 as a private education institution, first serving as a playgroup for children ages 2-4, and then expanded into a Montessori school for children up to age 12.

Our Sprouts program provides a warm, vibrant, educational home designed to foster a love of learning and help all children reach their fullest potential at their own unique pace. We strive to educate the whole child and to inspire children to be caring, socially responsible participants in their community and world. Our carefully prepared classrooms are staffed with qualified, Montessori-certified Lead Teachers and specially trained staff. Multi-age classrooms allow the children to learn from one another and to be valued contributors to the classroom community.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to be an active part in their child’s education. In addition to monthly newsletters, regular Whatsapp communication and an active Facebook page, we invite parents to volunteer in the classroom when and where needed, join us on exploratory field trips, help us organize school events or fundraisers, and connect with each other informally, creating a network that links the classroom to the community. At Sprouts we are invested in creating respectful relationships among teachers, administrative staff, parents, and children.

Our Philosophy

Philosophy

At Sprouts Montessori, we believe every child has an intrinsic desire to learn. Our approach honors individuality, independence, and the Montessori principles established by Dr. Maria Montessori, who emphasized that children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Our teachers carefully prepare the environment and guide each child's learning, but it is the child who leads the way. Montessori education fosters concentration, confidence, curiosity and a deep love of learning-skills that support success throughout life.

Across both Tiny Sprouts Play and Learn and Sprouts Montessori, children are encouraged to observe, think, explore, and grow at their own pace.  We believe in nurturing the whole child through a thoughtful, challenging, and caring environment where every learner can thrive.

Meet the Team

Staff

The experience and training of a Montessori teacher is integral to the Montessori method. All of Sprout's head teachers have completed Montessori teacher training with the North American Montessori Center in addition to their bachelor’s degree. Our teachers use both concrete teaching materials and a well-defined innovative curriculum tailored to the child. The Montessori teacher is specially trained to observe each child and to design lessons based on that child’s natural curiosity and love of learning. The teacher is responsible for preparing the educational environment within each classroom and for presenting lessons in that environment. During the course of a day, the teacher will demonstrate a wide array of concrete sensorial materials and sequential activities through individual instruction. The child soon learns to associate abstract concepts with hands-on experience.

Madam Zee wears a yellow top

Madam Zee

TEACHER

FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Madam Zee started teaching French at Sprouts in 2024. She has had the opportunity to share her knowledge of the language with the tiniest of Sprouts up to our oldest Sprouts. She learned French while studying at the University of Geneve in Geneva Switzerland. Learning the rules
and vocabulary of a new language as an adult took Madame Zee back to her childhood. In this way, she is able to identify with the kids and show them how French is simply a different way of viewing and communicating life. In addition to teaching French, Madame Zee works
in finance and fitness…the power of 3!

Our Founders

In 2009 two young mothers and best friends, Sam and Jenn, began a small playgroup with a shared passion for creating a nurturing, child- centered environment. What started as a simple gathering of a few has grown into today’s thriving Montessori preschool and primary school. With years of experience, Sam and Jenn continue to guide the school’s vision of fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning for every child in their care. Over the years, their friendship has grown into family- just as Sprouts has grown into a community where children and parents alike feel right at home. They love what they do, and they are grateful that you and yours have chosen to be a part of the Sprout’s family!
