Academics & Curriculum AGES 2-3 AGES 4-6 AGES 7-12 Play & Learn AGES 2-3 At Tiny Sprouts Play & Learn, we believe play is essential to healthy development. In our warm, lively, and supportive environment, children build confidence, make new friends, and practice important social and emotional skills each day. Through free play and group activities—like circle time, stories, and show-and-tell—children learn cooperation, communication, and sharing. Creative materials such as paint, crayons, and play dough encourage self-expression and fine motor development, while activities with balls, blocks, puzzles, and outdoor play strengthen coordination, balance, and body control. “Dance Party Time” is always a favorite, giving children a joyful outlet for movement and music. Montessori Primary AGES 4-6 We follow a theme-based curriculum that introduces new concepts in fun, engaging ways each month. Alongside play-based learning, we gently introduce early Montessori sensorial materials, which help children refine their senses, build independence, and practice problem-solving skills. Our Montessori Primary Program supports children during one of the most important stages of their early lives. We create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel known, valued, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. Through hands-on experiences in language, math, practical life, sensorial materials, and early science, children naturally develop curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love of learning. Practical life and sensorial activities help children grow in independence—caring for themselves, caring for their classroom, and learning to move through the world with purpose and grace. Gentle lessons in communication, cooperation, and kindness guide children in building strong friendships and learning how to resolve conflicts respectfully. The Primary Program’s three-year cycle provides the consistency young children need to thrive. As they grow, children become eager readers, writers, and thinkers, supported by beautifully designed materials and resources like the Oxford Reading Tree. Weekly art, music, French, and movement enrich their days, while ongoing teacher observation ensures every child receives thoughtful, individualized guidance. Montessori Elementary AGES 7-12 Our Elementary Program builds naturally on the Montessori Primary experience, offering a warm, multi-age classroom where children learn within a supportive, collaborative community. As students grow, they begin to move from concrete materials toward more abstract thinking while exploring an integrated curriculum that includes language arts, math, geography, science, history, art, music, and meaningful hands-on projects. Teachers guide students by encouraging questions, exploration, and independent thinking. Children learn to research, write, create, build, and present their ideas with confidence. Working both independently and in small groups, they develop strong social skills, empathy, and responsibility, creating a classroom environment that feels connected and inclusive. As students mature, they begin using weekly work plans to organize their time, make thoughtful choices, and set personal goals. Teachers provide individualized lessons and ongoing observation to support each child’s growth. Assessment happens through daily work, reflection, and self-correcting materials, with progress reports shared with families at the end of each academic year.

Our Montessori-trained teachers tailor learning to each student's needs and pace. ABOUT Sprouts Montessori Sprouts Montessori in Nassau, Bahamas offers a range of programs for children, each designed to meet the developmental needs of different age groups. MEET THE TEAM OUR PHILOSOPHY Our School Sprouts Montessori started in 2009 as a private education institution, first serving as a playgroup for children ages 2-4, and then expanded into a Montessori school for children up to age 12. Our Sprouts program provides a warm, vibrant, educational home designed to foster a love of learning and help all children reach their fullest potential at their own unique pace. We strive to educate the whole child and to inspire children to be caring, socially responsible participants in their community and world. Our carefully prepared classrooms are staffed with qualified, Montessori-certified Lead Teachers and specially trained staff. Multi-age classrooms allow the children to learn from one another and to be valued contributors to the classroom community. Parents are welcome and encouraged to be an active part in their child’s education. In addition to monthly newsletters, regular Whatsapp communication and an active Facebook page, we invite parents to volunteer in the classroom when and where needed, join us on exploratory field trips, help us organize school events or fundraisers, and connect with each other informally, creating a network that links the classroom to the community. At Sprouts we are invested in creating respectful relationships among teachers, administrative staff, parents, and children. Story "The child who concentrates is immensely happy." MARIA MONTESSORI Our Philosophy Philosophy At Sprouts Montessori, we believe every child has an intrinsic desire to learn. Our approach honors individuality, independence, and the Montessori principles established by Dr. Maria Montessori, who emphasized that children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our teachers carefully prepare the environment and guide each child's learning, but it is the child who leads the way. Montessori education fosters concentration, confidence, curiosity and a deep love of learning-skills that support success throughout life. Across both Tiny Sprouts Play and Learn and Sprouts Montessori, children are encouraged to observe, think, explore, and grow at their own pace. We believe in nurturing the whole child through a thoughtful, challenging, and caring environment where every learner can thrive. "The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child's own desire to learn." MARIA MONTESSORI Meet the Team Staff The experience and training of a Montessori teacher is integral to the Montessori method. All of Sprout's head teachers have completed Montessori teacher training with the North American Montessori Center in addition to their bachelor’s degree. Our teachers use both concrete teaching materials and a well-defined innovative curriculum tailored to the child. The Montessori teacher is specially trained to observe each child and to design lessons based on that child’s natural curiosity and love of learning. The teacher is responsible for preparing the educational environment within each classroom and for presenting lessons in that environment. During the course of a day, the teacher will demonstrate a wide array of concrete sensorial materials and sequential activities through individual instruction. The child soon learns to associate abstract concepts with hands-on experience. Miss Alisa HEAD TEACHER TINY TWO'S Miss Alisa has been teaching for 13 years. She's a proud graduate of C.V. With years of experience, Sam and Jenn continue to guide the school’s vision of fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning for every child in their care.
